Car hire at Geneva airport can be from either the French side or the Swiss side and a hire car is a handy and relatively inexpensive way to transfer to any the ski areas. Hire cars can be taken from France into Switzerland and the other way around quite freely but those in the know will tell you to rent from the Swiss side, despite the cars being a little more expensive, as return to Geneva airport French side can be a challenge.
